How to track your XRP profit and loss
Record your XRP purchases once and always know what your holdings are worth, what you paid on average, and whether you're up or down.
Knowing the XRP price is one thing. Knowing what it means for you is another: what your XRP is worth right now, what you paid for it, and whether you're up or down. XRP Alerts works all of that out once you've told it what you bought.
Add your purchases
Open the Wallet tab and tap Add purchase record. For each buy, enter:
- Amount: how much XRP you bought.
- Price per XRP: what you paid for each one. Use current price fills in today's.
- Date: when you bought it.
Add as many as you need. The Wallet adds them up into your total XRP, what you paid in total, your average buy price and your profit or loss, and each purchase shows its own gain or loss underneath.
Watch a wallet instead
If your XRP sits in a wallet of your own, you don't have to type in its balance. Tap Watch a ledger address and enter its XRP Ledger address. XRP Alerts reads the balance from the public ledger, and it only ever reads: you never enter a secret key, and the app can't move anything.
In Settings, Portfolio value from decides what your total counts: your purchase records, the watched address, or both. A watched balance has no purchase price, so it adds to your value but not to your profit or loss.
Keep it private
Your purchase records stay on your devices and sync through your own iCloud account, so they appear on your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch without an account of any kind. If you'd rather your total wasn't on screen, Hide balances and Hide profit / loss in Settings cover them up, and the eye on the Wallet card shows and hides them with a tap.
Make it work for you
Once your holdings are in, the rest of XRP Alerts uses them:
- Alerts can watch your portfolio's value as well as the price.
- Charts can show what your XRP has been worth over time: switch from Price to Value at the top.
- The Wallet widget puts your portfolio's value on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, and Apple Watch shows it on its own page and on your watch face.
Coming from XRP Alerts 3? Your purchase records come with you: the first time version 4 opens, it offers to import them.
The Wallet and portfolio tracking are part of XRP Alerts Pro.
