How to set XRP price alerts on iPhone
Get a notification when XRP rises above or falls below the price you care about, without keeping a chart open all day.
Watching the XRP price is tiring. A price alert does the watching for you: pick the prices that matter, and your iPhone tells you when XRP gets there. Here's how to set them up in XRP Alerts.
1. Choose your currency first
Alerts are set in a currency, so open Settings and pick yours under Currency before you start. XRP Alerts supports 34, from the pound and dollar to the rupee and rupiah. If you change currency later, alerts set in the old one pause until you switch back, rather than firing at the wrong price.
2. Add an alert
Open the Alerts tab and tap +. Then:
- Under Trigger when, choose Rises above or Falls below.
- Under Watching, leave Price selected.
- Enter your Target. Tap Use current price to start from today's price and adjust from there.
- Give it a Name if you like, such as "Take profit" or "Buy the dip".
Tap Add, and allow notifications if you're asked. Without them, XRP Alerts can't tell you when a target is hit.
3. Alert on your portfolio, not just the price
If you've added your purchases in the Wallet tab, you can also alert on what your XRP is worth. Choose Portfolio value under Watching when you create the alert, and you'll hear when your holdings cross a figure, say £10,000, however the price got there.
4. See how close you are
Every alert has a meter showing how far the price has travelled towards it. On Home, the scope around the price shows your nearest low and high alerts as rings, with a bar beneath telling you which one XRP is closer to.
5. Let it work in the background
With the app open, XRP Alerts checks the price every 30 seconds. In the background, iOS decides how often apps can check, so a few habits help:
- Keep Background App Refresh on for XRP Alerts in iOS Settings.
- Don't swipe the app away in the app switcher. iOS stops background checks for an app closed that way.
- Low Power Mode pauses background checks until it's off again.
Extras worth switching on
In Settings, under Alerts:
- 24-hour high / low sends a heads-up when XRP makes a new daily high or low, on the checks where none of your own alerts fire.
- Live Price near an alert puts the price on your Lock Screen once XRP comes within 3% of one of your alerts, so you can watch it land.
And in the Alerts tab, the Daily digest sends the price and your portfolio's value once a day, at a time you choose.
Price alerts, the digest and the 24-hour notifications are part of XRP Alerts Pro.
